Modern Rt: Fractal graphics with R

“My three year-old could paint that.” A fair enough claim in some contexts. But not with R they can’t. Here is a gallery of some randomized fractals plotted with R.

I have borrowed from the code by Atte Tenkanen, adding some visualization enhancements and improving the processing efficiency, but at it’s core it is essentially the same. Check it out. They are a lot of fun.

Now if only I could animate something like this! Unfortunately, it does not plot along a path. Rather the points begin diffuse, equally scattered, and eventually become thicker, akin to a fade in animation which is not very interesting and would not require the plot order of the points to achieve anyhow.
